On December 20, 2012, after a rigorous examination and certification by the Fujian Wei Dongxin Energy Limited company, the 6-3000ah/1.2-500V high-energy nickel-hydrogen battery products developed and manufactured by the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Staff were granted “Permits for Connecting National Defense Communication Network Equipment,” enabling them to enter the national defense communication network.

Weidong’s high-energy NiMH battery products have been successfully nominated. These products—boasting superior technical performance, quality, and reliability—have earned recognition from the military and fully meet the demands of China’s national defense modernization in communications. The designated products can be widely adopted and scaled up for use within military systems, providing high-standard, high-quality support for communication engineering and helping to build a robust military system.

The network access license is issued by the Ministry of Defense Communications to strengthen the standardization of military communication and command-and-control equipment. It establishes strict norms for national defense communication network products and military communication and chargeable equipment. Military units involved in communication command and general staff must obtain the license before procuring such equipment. Any communication chargeable equipment without a network access license shall not be ordered. Engineering design units must select equipment from the list of approved manufacturers when conducting designs, and construction entities may use such equipment accordingly. All manufacturers holding access permits will be recorded in the Communication and Command-and-Control Equipment Engineering Information Network Database, providing query services for military units.
